Not surprisingly, the radical left and the media’s flagrant affair with Barack Obama is coming to a close.  According to CNN,

“Prominent liberal groups and gay rights proponents criticized President-elect Barack Obama Wednesday for choosing evangelical pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at the presidential inauguration next month.”

It’s ironic that the left – a faction of the nation that is supposed to be open to all perspectives and inclinations – would rail against this decision.  Isn’t it a bit close-minded?  After all, the man is not going to preach his opinions on same-sex marriage; Warren will simply be delivering the invocation.  Webster’s defines invocation with the following words, “a form of prayer invoking God’s presence, esp. one said at the beginning of a religious service or public ceremony.” What’s the big deal?

It’s insane to think that liberals, who fought so hard to see Obama win, are now crying foul over such an unimportant decision.  After all, Warren isn’t joining the cabinet.  Even the media are jumping aboard the Nobama bandwagon.  Yesterday, CNN’s Campbell Brown had this to say to Obama:

“These are desperate times for many Americans and most of this country wants you to succeed. But you will not succeed if you discard the very ideals you promoted during your campaign: directness, honesty, candor, transparency, openness.”
